Volunteer Information

Mentoring [back to top]We have an ongoing need for Christian women to volunteer to mentor the women in our program. This involves attending 4 training sessions which will be held quarterly, a weekly mentor’s meeting on Wednesdays from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Other time involvement can be dictated by the mentor and her schedule.

Transportation [back to top]We have a great need for women who to provide transportation to appointments for the women who don’t have cars. Your name placed on our ride committee list and emails listing ride needs are sent out. If a ride fits your schedule, you respond to that ride need. If no rides fit your schedule, you don’t respond to the email.

Meals [back to top]We need volunteers to bring a meal periodically for the women, children, and volunteers who attend growth group on Tuesday evenings and for other scheduled events. Your name is place on our food committee list and you bring a light meal to our office for 20-25 people at a time scheduled by you and the Food Committee chairwoman.

Prayer Committee [back to top]Prayer requests are sent by email to this committee.

Entry Level Jobs [back to top]We need employers to volunteer to provide entry level job opportunities for our women when they are at that stage of their recovery program.

Group Bible Study Leaders [back to top]We need female volunteers interested in leading discussion groups and Bible Studies for the women or children during Growth Group and other scheduled meetings. Growth Group meets every Tuesday from 5:45-8:30. A meal is provided.

Childcare [back to top]We need volunteers to help teach and work with our children on Tuesday evenings while their mothers are in Growth Group and other scheduled events. Schedules will be arranged by Childcare chairwoman.

Intensive Outpatient Addiction and Life Skills Classes (IOP) [back to top]We need female volunteers to help teach and lead various classes. The materials used in the classes are provided for the leaders.

Clothes Closet [back to top]We need volunteers to sort clothes that are donated for our clothes closet and to help keep the clothes closet clean and organized.

Christmas Angel Project [back to top]We need volunteers to adopt each woman and child involved in AWO for Christmas. We ask each woman and child to list 3 wants and 3 needs on their Christmas list and then seek volunteers to adopt a list.

Special Events [back to top]We need volunteers to help plan parties and other special events for the women and children.
